If this is your first time visiting us, we’d like to welcome you and let you know that we’ve prayed for you to have wisdom as you seek the Lord’s leading in your life. We certainly don’t think our church is for everybody, but we are thankful that you’ve come this far and we want to answer a few questions that visitors tend to have when looking for a church home.
We are located in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania. 551 West Fourth Street, next to Boyer’s Grocery Store. Our main service starts at 10:15 on Sunday morning.
Please visit Our Location and Our Services for more information.
What are your services like?
Our services tend to be pretty simple.
- We prepare our hearts:
- We begin by encouraging the congregation to spend a few minutes before the service begins in quiet prayer in order to prepare our hearts for corporate worship.
- We pray, because we believe that God is our provider and that we need to seek after Him.
- We sing, because God is worthy of our praise and we need mutual encouragement.
- We preach God’s Word, because we believe that God gives life through His Scriptures. Our services are centered around the Word of God.
- We proclaim the Gospel, because it is the message of salvation for those who don’t know God and the message of strength for those who do know Him.
- We talk a lot about Jesus, because He is only hope for the world.
What style of music should I expect?
We believe that whatever music we sing should be Christ-exalting, God-glorifying, and Scripture-saturated. We use various instruments and several vocalists to encourage the congregation to lift their voices to Jesus with freedom and joy. We also believe that there are many songs from various times in history that both honor God and build up the church. In light of this, it isn’t uncommon to hear a song from the 1600’s in the same set with a song from 2015.
What should I wear when I come?
You’ll find all kinds of people wearing all kinds of different clothing. We seek to serve one another by being modest, however, as long as you’re honoring the Lord with what you’ve got on, we don’t care if you’re wearing shorts or suits. The Lord is most concerned with the heart, not your attire.
What should I do with my children?
Sunday School is provided for all ages at 9am every Sunday. During the 10:15 am worship service, Parents are free to keep their children with them, and many families choose to do this. We do however offer child care during the service for children up to 3 years old. We also offer a children’s lesson for preschool through 4th grade during the sermon. You may notice that many families will keep their children in the service until the song before the sermon and then take their children back to our children’s ministry. If you have questions when you arrive, just ask, we’ll be happy to help you in any way we can.
What does it mean to be a non-denominational church?
This simply means that we are not associated with any specific Christian denomination. Therefore, to find out what we believe you will want to read through our beliefs section on this website, or talk with one of us when you come and we can explain our beliefs. With that said, we trust that you’ll find that we are a Bible-teaching, Gospel-centered, Christ-exalting, God-glorifying church that believes baptism and the Lord’s Supper is for people who repent of their sins and trust in Christ.
Where should I park?
Most people either park in the stone parking lot behind our church building, the paved parking lot on the East side of the church building, or on the street. Any of those places are fine, however we do ask that you refrain from parking in the Boyer’s grocery store parking lot.
Where do I enter the building
The main entrance is the door that faces Boyer’s grocery store, however on the East side of the building there is an entrance that is handicapped accessible. Either entrance is fine.
